Fostex COP-2
Balanced Optical Converter
The new Fostex COP-2 is designed to solve problems encountered when using
optical cables to interface between digital mixers and recorders, etc.,
namely limited length and signal loss when the cable is under the slightest
stress such as kinks, etc. It achieves this by converting the digital
signal (S/P-DIF or ADAT) from optical to balanced XLR and from balanced
XLR back to optical.
Two modes of operation are available:
Mode 1
Converts ADAT optical to balanced XLR and offers extended connection of
ADAT optical-compatible machines such as Fostex D-80, D-90 & D-160
up to a distance of 20m*.
Mode 2
Converts S/P-DIF to balanced XLR and offers extended connection of S/P-DIF
compatible machines such as Fostex D-5, CD's & MD recorders up to
a distance of 100m*.
COP-2 represents a valuable addition to any studio offering the flexible
placement of digital recorders and mixers.
